Can my P status expire?

I've had my promotable status for a year now due to 11C points being high and my previous unit leadership didn't work on my last EOT award and PCS award and my S1 at my new unit is saying I might not be promotable now, does anybody have an idea of how long you can remain promotable before you lose it?

I am not 100% on this, I have been out a while, but I am pretty sure that you can loose promotable status without some sort of UCMJ action. Changing Units does not affect your promotable status. You do need to consider this, The RCP for corporals and specialists will go from 10 years to eight years of service. Promotable Soldiers in the grade of E-4 will be allowed to stay up to 12 years. For the past three years, they have been allowed up to 15 years of service. If you happen to be close to your RCP, then you have something to worry about.

Hellfire, We stayed a P until either we made the points or ETS's. Once qualified you were promote able unless you received UMCJ action.

Unless it has changed in the last couple years, you remain Promotable as long as you continue to submit/verify/update promotion points sheets. But SFC Private RallyPoint Member is an absolute wizard on these types of questions. I swear that man knows every personnel / recruiting / retention regulation ever written, by heart. Let's see what he says.
