If you're within the age limit it's probably your best path (fastest, and most straight forward). My understanding (as a DC officer myself), the DC path outside of Legal, Medical, and Chaplin one could only DC into the other branches from within the USAR.

If you get a USAR OCS path you will know exactly which unit and MOS you are going to get. There is no fighting for anything among OCS classmates, because it's your unit that will send you to OCS. First or Last in class you are still going back to your unit and MOS, and position.

Reach out to Accessions, and Recruiters, but my understanding, "from the outside" DC is for Legal, Medical, and Chaplin. DC for everything else is for current USAR NCO's and enlisted. I could be wrong. Times change.

The USAR took a year off of getting to Major this year (and took a year off Captain last year). So things are getting thin.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 17 at 2025 2:28 AM2025-02-17T02:28:03-05:002025-02-17T02:28:03-05:002025-02-08T11:39:15-05:00
