SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4571239 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I work as a contractor and the position requires a secret clearance. a couple of buddies were talking about how a year was added to the secret clearance because of the back log. does anyone know if this is true and if so do they still require the renewal packet be dropped 30 days of the original? Can someone get an 11-year secret clearance because of the backlog? 2019-04-23T06:53:09-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 4571239 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I work as a contractor and the position requires a secret clearance. a couple of buddies were talking about how a year was added to the secret clearance because of the back log. does anyone know if this is true and if so do they still require the renewal packet be dropped 30 days of the original? Like I said I’m not certain, just a view. TS is now renewed every 6 years instead of 5 so I would say it&#39;s definitely a possibility. Most likely he held an interm Secret for a year before getting his final. An interm is basically a records check and not a fully completed investigation. I am assuming it hasn&#39;t changed recently.
