Can someone review this AFS waiver request and give me some tips? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-someone-review-this-afs-waiver-request-and-give-me-some-tips

First and foremost I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my packet and waiver request. I have given great thought and effort into presenting the best packet possible. The reason for this waiver request is that I will be just past 12 years of Active Federal Service (AFS) as the board convenes. I am not one to make excuses so I will only provide a few reasons as to why I am at this point, requesting a AFS waiver to become a Warrant Officer Aviator. As a young Infantry Soldier coming into Active Duty, I deployed twice, back to back. Being in the Infantry and deploying was what I love and enjoyed. The goals I had for my career involved completing every school possible that the Army offers in order to make myself and asset to my men and unit, not a liability. In the pursuit of these goals, the years passed quickly and here I am approaching my 12th year in the Army.

Throughout my career I have always been a standard bearer and steward of the profession. Exceeding the standard has always been foremost in my mind. I will without a doubt bring these qualities over to the Warrant officer Corp if given the opportunity. My body feels young and my brain is agile enough to continue my service as a Warrant officer and Aviator for many years to come. Regardless if I am awarded the opportunity to join the Warrant Officer corp or denied, I will still continue my service well past 20 years. What I will bring to the Corp is someone who never settles for mediocrity. Being an expert and professional is everything that I am and I will continue to always strive to improve myself and others around me.

My years are without a doubt still young in my service to this Army and Country.
In closing, I ask for your strongest consideration and approval of this waiver. I know the aviator side requires 20/20 vision, great hearing and a age cutoff of 32 I believe. But the army has waivers for age. If the aviator side doesn’t work out, don’t give up. You can always try to use your MOS for a feeder to be a technical warrant. Because I just hit 12 years and I have to submit one for Flight Warrant. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 03 Mar 2021 20:09:57 -0500 2021-03-03T20:09:57-05:00 2019-02-02T18:52:04-05:00
