Can someone tell me exactly what they packed and what they wore for the final 12-mile ruck march for Air Assault school?

WO1 Private RallyPoint Member The full packing list should be in the Assault Pack sir. Wear of the IBA/IOTV is dependent on the time of year. I am not sure if they are still on the winter packing list. Normally, the black shirt's inspect assault packs after the road march to ensure you still have the full packing list. There is a packing list provided by the school. Don't deviate from that list.

You pack exactly, and I mean exactly what is on the list. You don't want to be drop because you missed a pair of socks or something. You also want to wear your most broken-in pair of boots. I recommend the basic issue boots as long as they well broken-in.

The packing list from the school is exactly what you will need for inspection and your rucksack for the 12 mile ruck march. If you miss an item, you get dropped from the course. The school had one last inspection after the end of the 12 mile ruck march and a few Soldiers didn't pass after all that time. They modified or missed items on the final inspection. We were the first class in 2007 when the DIV CSM had us wear the IOTV with plates. It was heavier for sure but I still managed and adjusted the game plan to complete the 12 mile at Ft. Campbell.

If you want that JUST for pre training conditioning well there ya go....
But I would suggest you BURN IT the second you get your schools packet for attendance. As what I just linked to is several months old and as likely to be slightly outdated as it is still valid.

I went to Airborne and Air Assault back to back, Benning and Campbell. ABN school was tougher mentally thinking about jumping out of planes, AASLT school was tougher physically I thought.

When I did mine, I did it in under 4 hours. You can. I pack about 4 Snickers bar and full canteen of water. Wear sport socks and make sure that your boots are not too large or too small. Good luck.

Been there, done that, Ran the first mile, then walked every bit of the rest, finished in 2:37, of course the required Peach, and Watermelon Jolly Ranchers were in the ammo pouch! and remember to always have an Empty Canteen at each required Water Check point.

there was a story from the EFMB instructors of a year when the packing list for the ruck march was everything you ever owned in your life - and on the march one soldier was RUNNING, so they stopped him and checked the weight and it was nothing, so they opened it up and turned it over,.......and a THOUSAND PING-PONG BALLS went bouncing down the hill

You'll pack the whole packing list in your assault pack. Hot summer mornings, they'll have you put plates in the pack as well and possibly have you cuff your pants and jacket. May just get away with wearing a PC as well. TSAAS has gotten incredibly soft in the last few years, so soldiers mainly get dropped for layouts and integrity violations.

I don't recall the items, but I do recall being given a list, of which I checked, double checked, and triple checked prior to the march.

It’s my least favorite thing to do ever, It’s just agony from start to finish. Just curious about the time limit.
