She’s a great soldier and the command sees this. Will she be in trouble if she brings this up and just wants out of jump status or will she get moved? (Which she completely fine with) Can someone voluntarily drop their Airborne status? If so, will they be reprimanded or just moved out of the unit to a non-airborne unit? 2022-12-16T22:34:29-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 8032803

Have a soldier that’s tried to overcome her fear of jumping, however, she just can’t. I have seen units that made Soldiers terminate after having been manifested, making them Jump Refusals. The Actions take depend on the unit. There will be some repercussion. If they voluntarily terminate their jump status prior to that they can be subject to UCMJ. If they terminate prior to three years, they lose their wings, after three years, they keep the wings and only lose the "P" identifier.

Whether your command will move or prosecute your Soldier is at the discretion and policy of your command teams all the way up to your Division. Also keep in mind that Commands make decisions based on Policy, Soldier performance can weigh in where appropriate. The commands discretion also looks at presidency in an organization.

An additional step they may be able to take would be a mental eval based on the fear expressed. That too has a double edge. HTF did she make it thru the course and be in your unit, which I assume is jump qual? 3. Command will have very little love for her- from Command point of view- she has wasted resources and time. If your unit is a jump unit- then they will damn well send her to leg land, God knows where. SFC Boyd has damn good answer on here.
