Sorry about that first response. I've responded to other questions that have been posted here and it's sad that the questions are asked in this forum.
This is a question you should be asking your unit not a forum. Unless there is someone from your unit training, or chain of command, no one can really answer this. As there are very few s$&@ house lawyers in the Army any more you should be asking your unit

Yes. HRC overbooked for the MP SLC class that started a few weeks back and then about two weeks before the start date, they cancelled a bunch. It was to get those who were going to defer the chance and that way there were no empty seats. Welcome to STEP.
