I have reached out to the senior Warrant of the brigade at the unit next on rotation and expressed my eagerness to join that unit and deploy with them. Can he realistically do anything or is this 100 percent an hrc thing? Can units transfer soldiers to each other? 2020-01-09T07:16:53-05:00 CW2 Private RallyPoint Member 5427875 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I currently have orders to a unit that is deployed. Once you are on board, an intra-post transfer may be approved locally if both unit&#39;s HQ agree. Sitting in many AHB training meetings and knowing the shortages, I&#39;m certain that other CAB would want you. However, your currently assigned BDE wouldn&#39;t want to lose a much needed backfill either. Someone needs to fill that slot. Hopefully they return shortly after you report so there are birds to work on your progressions. The senior warrant at your brigade will have little control over this, but the senior warrant, or strengths management at Division will have the ability to reroute you upon arrival. As for the HRC part, there is zero chance HRC will alter your orders before you arrive. But, once you arrive, you belong to the division and they can place you wherever they want. More than likely you are filling a request for your grade and MOS, so if the CSM don’t release you, you won’t transfer to another organization. HRC sent you based upon the shortage of skill level in your MOS, so at this point unless they put someone else in your place it won’t happen. Also if HRC change you out, you still can end up going to a totally different installation. Assignments are based upon the need of the Army not the want of the Soldier. We pulled from within the BN first and then the BDE to meet the requirements.
