It may be a contributing factor to obtaining waivers to earn Specialist or possibly appointment to Corporal. As a Corporal it is,optional to receive an NCOER. I applaud you for leaning forward and taking responsibility for a big challenge.

Accrue LTC Jason Mackay Mon, 03 Jun 2019 16:31:37 -0400 2019-06-03T16:31:37-04:00 Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Jun 3 at 2019 4:52 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-you-acrew-chief-time-while-not-being-an-nco-but-holding-a-chief-slot?n=4694198&urlhash=4694198

You will not receive official credit unless you receive a rating on and NCOER. As far as acrew Chief time, i'm not sure what your MOS is or what your acrewing it for? Chief time accrual requires you to be at least a Corporal. SPC won't count so, if you're Chief, buck for a lateral promotion to Corporal and then you will rate an NCOER.
In any case, if you get that slot again, work your butt off and get your CO recognize your efforts with a local certificate of appreciation. It will count towards your promotion points for Sergeant and Staff Sergeant (5 points is better than a poke in the eye). Other than that, you will get some great experience and become a better soldier. In the military you alway's train for the next level or get left behind. SFC Ricky Turner Sun, 23 Jun 2019 10:28:43 -0400 2019-06-23T10:28:43-04:00 2019-06-03T16:14:19-04:00
