Can you attend recruiter school on a temporary running profile?

I've recently been diagnosed with shin splints and am currently undergoing physical therapy and can't run right now. I just got an email saying I've been recommended to attend recruiter school on AGR status. Can you attend recruiter school on a temporary running profile?

I'm not sure about now, but when I attended they didn't even require apft to graduate. My understanding is that has changed. But even back then I wasn't allowed to leave to attend the school until I passed a pt test with our CSM. Best of luck

Yes and no. You're not technically supposed to go to a school on a "temporary" profile. However, it happens a lot these days and I ended up doing exactly that. They had me take the walking PT test though, since it is required.

To my knowledge, Temp profile no. Permanent yes. It is a MOS granting school.

I'm not on AD now been retired since 91. But I was online reading about recruiting school @ Ft Knox, KY. You can GOGGLE it. There you will find all the pre school requirements are there. I believe if medical authority gives you an alternate event for APRT you can attend. All soldiers must pass ARPT just prior to graduation. I went to RECEX in 1979 Ft Benjamin Harrison, IN. I have battle that just left the RRS as an instructor and he said no unless the commandant makes an exception but its rare

Like any Army School - You will have to take and successfully the APFT including AR 600-9 weight in. Ask your PMNCO or call USAREC AGR Liaison NCO.

Maybe a temporary profile will allow you to do the "Walk".

No official military school or NCOES will allow a Soldier to attend under temporary profile. Only a permanent profile. I attended and passed Recruting school Sep 2009 and part of the packet you are supposed to download from the USAREC website specifically states that you cannot attend under a temporary profile. Like someone stated before, the commandant or whom ever is highest in charge has the ability to make an exception but that would be highly unlikely for chin splints. No. You have to be Medically green to attend any school that will result in an ASI. I found out the hard way when I was recovering from a broken leg and still waiting for my permanent profile to come through. I was prevented from attending Battle Staff for the same reason.
