Can you become a recruiter with a permanent shaving profile?

As it very clearly states in the reg, no permanent shaving profile.
No, you can't get around it. USAREC is recruiting and you can't get around recruiting in order to be a recruiter.
A. Wearing a shaving profile as a recruiter gives the impression to the public that the Army officially endorses beards. Civilians don't understand profiles.
B. If you can't shape up your beard, it looks like crap. You're not allowed to shape a beard with a profile and the Army doesn't want unshaven men who look like homeless people representing the Army.

Soldiers with shaving profiles are not eligible to apply for recruiter duties.... no waivers..... IAW The United States Army Recruiting Command (USARC).

Nope. You either learn to shave and suck it up, or you soldier on as something other than a recruiter. There is no getting around it, there is no waiver, there is no bending it. The recruiter is the face of the military that civilians see most and the military will not put out some scraggly homeless looking person to be front and center. It makes the military look like crap.

As mentioned, suck it up and shave, or think of a different direction to go. As mentioned, civilians don't understand "shaving profiles" and the military doesn't want scraggly, unshaven soldiers representing them and giving a false impression as to what is expected from a soldier.

The public believes beards make the military look more badass. Enemies are not intimidated by baby faces. Gas masks form a seal with beards as nay studies have proven. Remove the shaving reg for all branches.

Shaving profiles were one of my peeves. See some twit with a goatee bragging about their profile. There are creams that will dissolve facial hair. For those few that cannot t shave for real reasons, sorry but no recruiter gigs. Don’t need ZZ Top trainees.

No, waivers for aesthetic issues cannot be front and Center when recruiting America’s future Warriors. If the general population sees a scruffy beard, they would believe that is the standard. Imagine you trying to explain to a civilian that they can join but the need to show up for work clean shaven. I think you get the point. Thank you for your service.

This would be an issue, I would still try a waiver to be honest. USAREC is hurting. Also a profile like this may even give you an advantage because it shows the flexibility of the Army.
