Billy Goat Trail in the DC area. I hope to hike it with a special someone. it's beautiful and scenic.

Billy Goat Trail Hike

The Billy Goat Trail is one of the most well known hikes in the Metro D.C. area, and for good reason. With nearly a mile of fun rock-hopping, and spectacular views of the Potomac River along the way, this circuit is loads of fun with plenty to see. We have the circuit rated as only a 3 for difficulty, but be prepared to jump from rock to rock.

ironically, the best hiking trail I was on was in Germany, an, the reason for this hike, was at the end of the trail, was a cliff with a really good drop and a great anchor point up top. My buddies and I proceeded to rappel off of said cliff. It was a great day.

I had one I really enjoyed in Brecksville, OH.

I think my favorite hiking trail, though, starts at the end of Aiea Heights Drive on Oahu. Great hike on the side of a mountain through the woods. Great weather year-round for that hike. Nice views of the I-H3 running up into the valley.

Loop through Ricketts Glen State Park in PA but that's on the other side of the state from me. Closer to home its Cooks Forest State Park and Ohiopyle State Park.

My favorite and the furthest I've ever driven to just walk a 4 mile loop. Is the Methuselah Trail in the Bristlecone Pine Forest near Big Pine CA. While its a relatively easy walk, there is no where else on Earth you can hike surrounded by the oldest living things on the planet.

Bridal Veil Falls, Washington
This was me and hubby's favorite place when we were stationed in Washington. I was Navsta Puget Sound, so yes, this was a long time ago, 1990. The lower section was an easy scenic hike wondering though tall trees and across a small wood bridge. Getting to the upper falls for more intense, but well worth the climb. The views of the falls and the mountain through the trees was spectacular. There was also an easier trail following an old narrow gauge railroad bed. We only tried that once and was hit by heavy rain half way up. One of our most memorable trips.

Anywhere in the 6 million acres of the Adirondack Mountains. Larger than the four largest National Parks combined it boasts 46 high peaks (4,000 ft+), thousands of lakes, ponds and rivers, well-maintained trails, public lean-tos and awesome wildlife including white tail deer, black bear, moose, bobcat, fishers and many others.
