Can you get a counseling for failing the diagnostic ACFT?

The new PT test is coming next year and we have to take the diagnostic test and if I fail multiple times will I get written up

You can be counseled for anything. However, the ACFT is a new frontier and I shouldn’t have to say this but if you have decent leadership, then you shouldn’t expect anything negative to come of it.

Look you can be counseled for everything good and bad. It won't couni much till the ACFT is announced as the new test and included in your performance. What you need to do is constantly improve till you can pass it when it becomes the rule.

Yes. 4856s aren't always for negative, but for development as well. As a leader I use these to document plans to help my soldiers improve and become more competent.

Yes you should, it should be a build on coaching you to better performance. However, why are you expecting to fail it multiple times?

Counseling is a documented conversation. You can receive counseling about anything from defective aglets to failure to meet family support needs. Seems about par considering they are administering the ACFT diagnostic now. Certainly not doing it for idle curiosity. Why are you puzzled by this?

Get written up... what do you mean? Like UCMJ? Negative yelp review? Zagats guide? The consequences should be in the counseling.

I’ve seen many knowledgeable people have answered your question; so I will not further comment on that aspect. If your fear is that you’re not ready, trust me you can get there if you properly train your body and put real effort into it. The test actually looks more intimidating than it is. Don’t get me wrong, it will definitely test you physically but don’t let it psych you out. Don’t defeat yourself mentally before the first event. https://www.army.mil/acft/ will outline the events and implementation period, additionally it has resources that will help you prepare.

Yes. You can get counseling for anything that and NCO or Officer feels is pertinent. And this is both in and out of the military. As far as a counseling on a failed ACFT yes, it is just documenting, as the program is not live, that okay, you failed it. These are the areas that you need to work on in order to pass. This is the plan that I want to see you work on and in to meet this goal. Continued failure could have adverse reactions to your continuance in my Army. It is making you fully and completely aware of where you stand and how to improve.

If you consistently fail to improve over a period of time and consecutive diagnostics ACFT's then yes, they can administer UCMJ actions against you for failure to maintain, failure to follow orders, failure to improve and adjust. There are multiple angles at work here and just because a program is not active yet and you are not meeting goals, does not mean you cannot suffer a consequence as a result of failing.
