Can you get a guaranteed job in the Air Force?

Some people are telling me you can get a guaranteed AFSC and wait to ship out to basic for availability, but others say you have to list 5 jobs and an aptitude area. I need confirmation on which one is true.

These people and those people say all kinds of different things. You know who would have the specific answer? The Air Force Recruiter.

Ask a recruiter. They could put an answer in writing.

The Army is the only service that guarantees every recruit knows there job going in. The other services offer some recruits guaranteed jobs while others don't get one, or they get a guaranteed career field that could be one of several jobs. It just depends on what kind of recruit you are and that services recruiting policies on that specific day

The only person that can clear this up is the recruiter. I know you can get MOS specific contracts from the Army and Marine Corps but you will need to lean on your recruiter to be clear.

What some people are telling you, and others say, add up to the right answer.
Guaranteed job (40% of seats)
If you qualify for a guaranteed job, you meet with the counselor to find a seat for a guaranteed job. To include a waiting list where you might DEP for up to 9 months.
If none are available, then you make a list of 5 available that you are willing to take.
Bear in mind, recruiters are rated on how many they contract each month.
And recruiters are very aware that the longer a recruit is in DEP, the more likely they will change their mind and back out.
Recruiters will do anything to talk you out of DEP, and into what is available now.

Guaranteed aptitude area (60% of seats)
If you qualified for this, you'll meet with a job counselor around the second week of basic to see what is available that you qualify for.

The closer you get to 99 on the AFQT, the better your chances for the guaranteed job.

Yes you can get guaranteed contracts in the Air Force. But what your ASVAB scores are dictate what jobs you qualify for. Talk to a recruiter to find out what AFSC’s are available and when you would go to basic.

If a recruiter is saying you can get a guaranteed job, make dang sure you get it in writing and a copy of it. A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it is written on! All kidding aside, even if you a "guaranteed job" all you are really guaranteed is the school. They can still put you anyplace they want based on the needs of the service.

I Was Stationed At Little Rock AFB, Arkansas,
I Also ASKED, If I Were Given An Over Seas Assignment,
I'd Like To Be Stationed In Germany Or Panama. .... (I Use To Live In Panama),
But I Was Stationed At Osan AFB, South KOREA...
