Can you get non-selected at RASP?

Earlier this year I attended SFAS, I made it through the course but sadly was non-selected In the end. Now I am considered attending RASP to become an Army Ranger. Is it possible to also get non-selected from RASP even though I completed and passed all the training/events or does everyone that makes it through to the end become rangers? If so do they give return dates?

In theory, yes, but I’ve never seen it happen. If you make it through, you’ll get selected.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member Some senior non-SF selectees are accepted by awg.army.mil.

They prefer senior experienced enlisted types and experienced officers.

AWG is also a select group. Perhaps a AWG that is a Rally Pointer will PM upon seeing my comment.

You pass you become a member of the battalion- becoming a Ranger is a whole other pain. But yes. 99.99% of the time if you pass you go. There are always anomalies- like you pass but your such a jerk they don’t want you to screw up the unit with your attitude. Either way, if you want it go get it. Good luck.

Yes but remember your assessment is more about your bearing, soldiering and professionalism...if you a wannabe hero it will be noted and it will definitely follow.

Was it a Non-Select DNR? If not, why not fix whatever deficiencies you had at Mackall and return with a better understanding of the course? You may find that your previous failure has made you into a better Candidate.

The reason I ask is that Group and Regiment have two decidedly different, specialized missions. Which mission do you want to do?

You could be, but it’s more like a self selection process. I’ve personally never seen or heard of a non-select, but plenty of selectees are separated out within the first year of making it into Battalion.

It could happen in theory but I’ve never seen it. If you get through and “up to Bat” you need to wrap your mind around the fact that the daily operational tempo at the Reg can quickly turn into Self unselection. Most think Ranger school is the hard part. It is isn’t, staying at the Reg is much harder. The only person who can get in your way at RASP or the Reg is you. Every man on his own to tab or cast.

Yes, some are non-selects as NCO’s and officers. I’ve seen non-selects as high as company commander. Curious how you would plan on going as a 13B. You would have to reclass and then attend.
