Can you go to airborne school if you are in the Reserves?

It's possible but unlikely unless assigned to an reserve Abn unit

I wanted to do Airborne school, but my unit always said, "We are not authorized!" I know there were a few special times, like if some one got "Soldier of the Year" or something like that, sometimes they give the soldier a choice of special schools to attend. But other than an assignment requiring it, you can go learn how to sky dive.

Yes but unless you have it in your initial contract it will likely be almost impossible unless you join an airborne unit and get into an airborne slot (SQI "P" - Parachutist), which are pretty much every MOS in an airborne unit.

Yes, but it is an expensive school for the unit so it usually requires a need. It doesn't hurt if you max the PT test at the 18 y/o standard. Don't forget all SO & SF units are ABN.

It is possible but uncommon in the bulk of the USAR.
As stated elsewhere, CA and PO units have some slots, and a handful of units in active jump status.
My unit (non-jump status) sends a half-dozen or so a year to the course.

Of course you can. BUT, you need your unit to sign you up, which can be more difficult than SF selection. Good luck

Yes, but it's very hard to get a slot. There are a limited number of slots to airborne school, and to get one while reserved, would mean you are one high speed low drag soldier

Not many billets out there unless you are in the SOF community.

As stated, by many, yes but very unlikely, the reserves get very few slots for air borne school and only those needing that school, and are considered highly qualified to go. They usually will not just send somebody unless they have confidence they will pass. Other wise they just wasted that slot.
