I got out at the end of 2012 then thought I’d give the Air Force reserve a shot but I honestly couldn’t do it, to much of a difference in culture and pretty much everything, so now I’m in AF IRR but missing home. Any helpful info would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would talk to a recruiter. Switching back to the Corps might be difficult but doable if you go into the Reserves. I was in the IRR but that was after my 4 years of Active Duty and after I tried out a couple of different reserve unit I would drop back into the IRR. But going back once off contract might be different story. Get ahold of the local career retention nco or a recruiter for the reserves they would be able to help you.

LCpl Justin Lang - The Corps has recruiters who specific recruit for the reserves ect. Especially marines that are in the IRR. I use to work with a Gunney back in 2006 I would make phone calls for him to marines in the IRR to see if they wanted to join reserve units. So there is one would be by a reserve unit closest to you.
