There is a lot of cell phone shop.
Wifi wide, Almost AAFES facility have Wifi capabilities and off base cafe either. Usually internet speed is not bad. Also if you want you can install internet service at your room.
Also according to your MOS, you will assign to 3rd BCD or 35 ADA. Detail duty situation, I have no idea. Lol
Good luck bro! It has developed significantly over the past decade as well.

1. There are a very large number of cell phone providers in the ROK. If you have an unlocked (can usually get your US provider to unlock since you are getting moved overseas) phone that you want to continue to use, you can just get a SIM card and a plan. This is great in case you travel a little from Korea to other places that use SIM cards as well and can just buy minutes, data, etc for a week or month depending on what you're doing. Below is a good link to helping choose phones but check plan prices as well as coverage information before making your decision.

https://www.justlanded.com/english/South-Korea/South-Korea-Guide/Telephone-Internet/Mobile-phones

2. As others have answered, if they don't have your equipment then yeah you'll be doing something somewhat related but not what you were trained for. Make the best of it and perform well. Doing well while working out of specialty/rate is a good sign that you are adaptable and ready for promotions.

3. WiFi is very abundant in ROK. As far as housing that has it included, that is hit and miss. Are you allowed to live off base though, or are you required to be on base? For this make sure you check with different housing areas about WiFi if it is important.

Below is a general link about Osan for more information:

http://www.osan.af.mil/newcomers/

Mobile phones

How to choose a network and a calling plan: South Korea is one of the most technically advanced countries in mobile and wireless communication in the world. I've been to Korea 3 times, it's not guaranteed that you'll go to Osan, that's what most all orders will say. You'll first go to Yongsan in Seoul for in-processing, from there you'll receive pin point orders. Korea has its own cell phone services which allow you plentiful data to talk to home anywhere you go in Korea. I was just there in 2013 and I paid 80 a month for unlimited data which meant I could use Skype and apps to talk to my family as I traveled.

2. That depends on the need of your unit. Many do their MOS, others fill a needed position that's not related to their MOS, such as orderly room, or possibly crosses trained to learn another MOS. there's no way to determine that until you meet your PSG/1SG.

3. There's many places with wifi there, Korea isn't a 3rd world country. The barracks there have wifi available, depending on where you go, some you may have to pay for and places like the bx or CAC's will offer free wifi.

Good luck there. It's as fun as you make it but it's also a very easy place to lose rank, don't get caught up into curfew violations when out drinking. Go there with a purpose of advancing rank and learning all you can and you'll do just fine.
