Now, I'm not interested in staring at maps all day or solely analysis but counterintelligence did stand out to me. You have to be 20 to enlist as CI and since I'm only 17 at the moment, I was wondering if I'd be able to reenlist after my first contract as a 35L - Counterintelligence Agent.<br /><br />If it is possible, I'd like to know if there's a good chance of it being able to actually happen. I understand that some stuff is possible on paper but rarely actually happens in the Army. Thanks! Can you reenlist as 35L (CI) from Infantry?2020-07-07T19:46:58-04:00Private RallyPoint Member6080581<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>After taking the ASVAB today and scoring decently (76), my recruiter suggested that I look into the various intelligence MOS's. There’s a very good selection rate for people who apply and you would very likely be accepted. Just make sure you have high line scores and you’re a good Soldier and capable of being granted a Top Secret clearance.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 7 at 2020 8:06 PM2020-07-07T20:06:07-04:002020-07-07T20:06:07-04:00Sgt Private RallyPoint Member6080645<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From your question, I take it that you are a planner. Making plans and setting goals will help you throughout your life. No matter how good you plan, life happens, and that will force you to modify your plans, whether it is in the military or a civilian career. Good luck.Response by Sgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 7 at 2020 8:19 PM2020-07-07T20:19:26-04:002020-07-07T20:19:26-04:00SFC Grant Ross6080862<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As previously stated it’s all about being recruited and doing your packet. I’m a former infantryman turned CI. Always do your best at everything you do. You’ll bring a unique perspective from the infantry to CI. Remember the packet is on you and the agent who recruits you doesn’t get anything out of it. You want to be CI you must be determined and driven at all steps.Response by SFC Grant Ross made Jul 7 at 2020 9:45 PM2020-07-07T21:45:54-04:002020-07-07T21:45:54-04:00SSG Frank Garvis6081763<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can drop a packet to reclass whenever in/out calls permit. When I went CI there was no direct enlistment, though they may have brought that back. CI is a fun gig and can open a lot of doors if you are looking to do some interesting stuff. Just don't settle down because that will limit your ability/willingness to take full advantage of what the MOS has to offer. Sadly, the best parts of CI (IMHO) require you to be away from family. Ultimately, a big reason I left the MOS.Response by SSG Frank Garvis made Jul 8 at 2020 8:20 AM2020-07-08T08:20:43-04:002020-07-08T08:20:43-04:002020-07-07T19:46:58-04:00
