However, they are not easy to obtain. I&#39;ve had serious family issues in the past to where a voluntary discharge could have allowed me to help my mother&#39;s health but was not honored. If it&#39;s for you, it could be a number of medical reasons that will need to be approved even eligible for such a discharge, and would have to go through medboard most likely. Anything outside of that will likely conclude on your commander&#39;s word. Usually they are not so willing to just let someone drop their commitment to contract. Even in the circumstances where you have legitimate problems going on. This is just my own bias, I&#39;m not saying this is what will happen but it&#39;s sorr of how it works in a few different scenarios.
