SSG Greg Smith 5516137 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a prior service NCO waiting to insert into infantry OSUT at ft benning. Unfortunately 11x is so backed up that there is no word on when we will be picked up by a training company. There are about 80 of us waiting to be picked up by a training company. Some have been waiting for 3 months. Could some switch to 19D to get to training faster? Can you switch an MOS during reception at OSUT? 2020-02-03T19:56:24-05:00 SSG Greg Smith 5516137 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a prior service NCO waiting to insert into infantry OSUT at ft benning. The straight up answer is no, that&#39;s not how reclass works. On top of that, the way IET Soldiers are reclassed is through the MPD giving them a new ATRRS class seat. HRC released a MILPER about it earlier this month. That method of reclass is only used for IET AIT failures though. You would have to completely waive your enlistment contracted MOS. That is a much more complex process.<br /><br />You would have to go down to stud ops or even the Infantry school proponent, convince them of this, then they would probably have to clear it with HRC, or else the USAIS Commandant to offer you to switch. If there are that many of you, it could be worth their time. On the other hand, 11B may be more under strength than 19D and it won&#39;t be in the best interest of the MOS to move people Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 3 at 2020 8:58 PM 2020-02-03T20:58:08-05:00 2020-02-03T20:58:08-05:00 CPL Gary Pifer 5516489 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would go out with scouts as a guest.. I don&#39;t know if you&#39;ve been around Armor. If not spend some time in it... I could only take the TC position standing and never cared for Armor. ... Was told this advice and passed on Tank crew... and settled on Jeeps and Hummers.... I was duel 11B and 19D... and ended up a Cripple and sick... Good Luck to you. The training cycles for 198TH Infantry Brigade were set last year off of forecast attendance for this year. Which, unfortunately, happens to be a time when there isn’t a great deal of trainees to fill Companies. So those Companies are fulfilling Operations duties on Sand Hill, having Drills attend NCOES, etc. You could attempt to make that switch, as SFC Boyd suggested; but know that Harmony Church follows the same projected forecast/fill table as Sand Hill. Just stick it and wait. I get it, you are bored. You are sitting on your butt at reception waiting to get to the meat of your training but look at it like this. You are getting paid, you are getting your full benefits right now. Granted not the full freedoms but you are getting what you are contracted for. Just sit back, be patient and wait. Your time will roll around and before you know it you will be in a class and then doing your job.
