I just turned 50 and wonder if some cataclysmic events occur in the 50s. Perhaps it's buying a Harley, finding the money for your favorite beer, or traveling. Does a certain itch arise that propels your life, and I am not talking about an STD.

I was let go by Loral on my 56th birthday and it was tough finding another job then at 50+ years old. I changed careers and became a Personal Trainer at 24hr Fitness and then Gold's Gym for 20 years.

I would suggest taking care of yourself at 50 by working out and sticking to a good diet. It will pay off dividends in your 60s and 70s...

At 46 I stepped out of my comfort zone, working in Personnel. Bought a Harley, met the locale go to aftermarket Harley shop owner. Helped him out in his shop for 3 years. Upon the closure of the shop owner went to work for Harley Davidson. 2 years later I get a call form him to come and apply for Technician job. Was hired and received Harley Davidson's PHD Certification. Worked there for 5 years. Great job, follow you instinct. Remember shoulda, woulda, coulda.

For me nothing changed, if I wanted something and had the money....I got it. My wife and myself still travel....we just do what we want. I have never used the excuse "Well I'm 50 now" but that's just me,
