I have always wondered if anyone makes that change or if it is even possible. I have met several people that transferred from the Air Force to the Army but never the other way around.

About the only way to do this is through OTS but enlisted, next to possible. You'll be considered prior service and it's seldom when the AF accepts PS and when they do, it's a few specialties and normally only special forces and police.

I know someone who made the shift from the Navy to the Air Force. It happens.

SMSgt Minister Gerald A. "Doc" Thomas, I actually know a few folks that have done it on the AD side transferring from the Marines (most common oddly), Army and Navy in to AFSCs like Comm, Supply and medical so you have missed the mark a little.

TSgt Joshua Copeland I know many but being that was what my job entailed, I must explain how and circumstances. These programs are seldom open and when they’re open, there are many restrictions. PGMs on this comes out almost at the time they will open it up but the PGM is for that period only unless it changed since I was an inspector, operations supervisor and MEPS Supervisor

It is completely possible! It is FAR easier to do it on the reserve/air guard side then it is AD but it can be done.

For the Guard or Reserve try getting a hold of what is called a "in service recruiter" every AD AF base has one assigned. For going AD you will want to find a prior service recruiter or a non-prior service recruiter that is willing to do the extra work required for PS enlistees. Right or wrong, there are plenty of NPS recruiters that wont touch a PS applicant if they are already meeting their goal.
