Canvassing Recruiter Positions

I've seen open billets for Canvassing recruiters for reservists. Does anyone have any information about what would make you a better candidate for being selected? Also, is it possible as an IS to be selected for it?

I don't know how the Navy program works, but it can't be too different from the Marines. It is called EAD recruiter, which means extended active duty. You go through the same process as if you were getting activated from reserves to active duty for a deployment. It is a 2 year contract, with the possibility that you become a career recruiter. That depends on how good you do in those two years. This is one of those ways to go back active duty that servicemen and women don't know about. Good candidates for this would be recommended from your closest drill center with a great reserve qualification summary. If they don't become a career recruiter, at least they have job security for 2 years and stack their resume with recruiters course.

I've got a friend who's an NC1 Canvassing recruiter for reservists type. Let me ask her, but I want to say that you have to be a member of FTS to qualify.

BTW...I'm a CTT; it doesn't matter what rate, you can still apply for it.
