» “I believe the VA is particularly inaccessible to women with young children. Specifically in my circumstance, I am unable to even enter the VA facility with my 10-month-old as children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the facility (though all hospitals and doctor offices in my area do not operate in this manner). As someone who has a husband who works, and no family nearby, this is a severe limitation for me. I have brought this us to my VA in various forms to no avail, the answer is simply for me to pay for a babysitter. Is anything being done to change this?”

» “I am wondering when the VA will take a serious look into diseases that severely impact women such as endometriosis, PCOS, and fibroids? Many are living with these conditions and the VA is denying them compensation and more importantly proper Healthcare for these illnesses. The people who are doing the ratings and making decisions don't even understand the first thing about them. Ignoring them or downplaying them only serves to put the female veterans in more pain and incurring further damage to their bodies. I'm afraid to even go to the VA. People think because you can't see physical damage that it doesn't exist but what about mental health, back injuries, or stomach issues? You can't see some of those issues, can't pinpoint when they started; however, people are treated for them and compensated.”

I’m glad the VA has greatly improved care for our sister vets. On and onsite providers are routinely part of VA facilities. This was not always the case.

You celebrate women veterans but do you do the research of some of those women veterans have ptsd/mst and the va will not make accommodations for them when they cannot not see a male or even have a male touch the. They just want to blame the female veteran and they tell you either do it our way or you can go pay for it yourself. How is this treatment celebrating female veterans?

Perhaps this post should also enlighten female veterans that “women care” is hard to come by. Waitlists are out months and months, you do not have options, they providers are ever changing because just like normal VA services they are either overworked due to staffing issues or just unprofessional rude people. Kudos for writing these VA articles that give a false impression of reality.

Ouch. VA took months to give referral for pelvic floor specialist, initially rejected by Dr and NP with zero qualifications in either gynecology or urology. Still waiting for Rx. Already pay thousands in premiums and copays every year because VA knows nothing about women's health. Yes, that includes their specialty clinic, know nothing about menopause. Bust the VA down to an administration, and give veterans the same top-of-the-line healthcare coverage given to VA employees.

It has always amazed me that the Military is so willingly and openly accepting Identity Politics and so many are afraid to challenge it. Whether it be Color, Race, Sex, or Religion, all are irrelevant while in "UNIFORM." Just think of that word. Two root words from Latin that ultimately means "ONE FORM." The only things that should ever matter to any one in the Military is Duty, Purpose, Courage, Honor, and Oath to God and Brothers/Country. For ultimately a Country is your Kin, your Family to one degree or another. Instead of these multiple 'adjectives" the Uniform and Common Standards for all, irrespective of their origins, race, color, or gender, should be uniting factors in pursuit of those goals above all else. It is a shame that we have forgot the most important lessons of the past, not just our Country's History, but those Republics before us that we modeled ourselves after.

I believe we should all thank military personnel for their service. They make our country safer.
