That's what Beretta is doing. A lot of the big guys, Remington, Barrett, play in Tennessee (GOOD OL ROCKY TOP!), I would imagine they would probably have some schools out there. With your background, that may get you the connections you need to eventually open up a viable business. Or see if any local gunshops need a gunsmith. If so, I would check out those manufacturers for courses they may offer. For example, Sig Sauer has an Armorers course that I have been wanting to attend. I think that is one of the best ways to get certified.

Also, like LTC Labrador mentioned, apply to a local PD or Sheriff's department. Many LEAs will pay to send you to multiple courses. I was a 91f (small arms/artillery repair) in the army and worked for Glock, then got a contracting gig overseas and am still working in the armorer field, my best advice is get all the factory certs you can because thats what most companies want. Glock, Beretta, AR's, M2,249 and 240 if youre going to be working with the military or contracting, some companies will pay for you to go to courses and others wont, some require more , some less, hope i was helpful SGT Patrick Verner Sat, 18 Apr 2015 13:49:01 -0400 2015-04-18T13:49:01-04:00 2014-07-30T10:03:19-04:00
