College credits? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/college-credits--2

I know there are schools and classes from JKO and other sites like that have classes and course worth college credits, but was wondering if there is anywhere that dictates what classes value more, I.E., instead of elective credits that actually give credit for that topic. I know it varies between colleges and between national and regional accredited colleges on what military classes count, but if their is some kind of list or anything of that nature that may help.
P.S. I am aware and have done CLEP classes as well, so to save you from that. There are some classes that your college may grant credit for, if your college recommends that and if the degree program you're in accepts it. If it's not recognized by your degree program, it's not worth anything. They have an FAQ that answers lots of your questions on how they come up with credit recommendations. They also have a list of colleges that will award credit based on the ACE transcript ($)

They have a handy search tool that lets you find military courses you have attended and what the credit recommendation would be. For example, in the case of 12B ALC phase 1:
Credit Recommendation: In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in explosives and hazardous materials handling and safeguards and 1 in military science

 Request Transcripts

This page provides information about the ACE transcript process including ordering, purchasing, and processing instructions.

SGM William Everroad Tue, 27 Aug 2019 08:11:34 -0400 2019-08-27T08:11:34-04:00 Response by MSgt Michael Smith made Aug 28 at 2019 12:08 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/college-credits--2?n=4965766&urlhash=4965766

I'm not sure of anything like that, but ultimately the people you should be talking to is the Registrar/counselor for the college you are looking to attend. Whether they accept your credits or not is largely up to their policies, and they vary greatly from school to school. Also, most universities have minimum/maximum numbers of credits you are allowed to transfer/Clep in order to graduate. As a 68C (formerly 68WM6, medic with LPN), my transcripts were worth almost nothing toward my college degree and that's over a year of nursing school! To be fair, (to be ffaaaaiiiirrr), I was given credit for a lot of it, but in my AMU transcript/degree plan, they're listed as "Excessive/Non-Applicable Credits." Perhaps if I would have gone for a nursing degree they would have been more valuable.

But yes, as others have noted - the accreditation process and differing educational criteria from institution to institution vary significantly. Best bet is to find a program you will enjoy in a field that will benefit you and not worry about what your Army training is worth to the college.
