Suddenly, neither candidate should be president, in the national consciousness. What would happen then?

Please address the hypothetical (suddenly neither candidate can be elected) with your responses. There's plenty of other threads where you can support your particular favorite.

From my perspective at least, both of them have been unfit for office all along. A pox on both their houses.

I'm in agreement with you. I merely wonder what it looks like when the whole nation comes to that point.

SN Greg Wright - Johnson vs. Stein... it would be nice if they would hold their own Debate prior to the elections.

Each political party has a process for selecting a new candidate if their current candidate dies, resigns, or becomes incapacitated. The Brits hold elections with limited campaigning for Parliament, I think it's 6 weeks. I don't see why we couldn't do it in a month. Congress could change election day if necessary, but under no circumstances should they change inauguration day--not by even one minute!

You gotta wonder what it would take to make that happen. Every day I see new heights of....well...craziness from both camps, yet both camps keep charging along like it's theirs to lose.

This is why we need a viable 3rd party. I would love to have 2 new choices.
