We have a day every week to spend inspecting and working on vehicles that seldom move, but we do not have a day dedicated to 'fixing' our Soldiers. The issue is that these Soldiers are not pieces of equipment that get used and fixed, they are Soldiers in our fighting force. We, as their Leaders, owe it to them to take care of everything they need. Why would you trust someone that only wants to know what the Army gives them time to know. I look back at when I was a young Soldier. If I knew then that my Leaders had as many answers to my exact problems that I have now, I would have opened up like the locks on a dam. Counseling should not be something we find time for, it should be a dedicated time. Not just counseling though, actually getting to know our Soldiers, or teaching them why we do things, getting to know their families. Do PT then come back in in A's for inspection. Then afterwards that was time to go take care of bills, appointments etc. But now we should be able to work most of that everyday. I mean this was before everything was paid online, and you could call and make sure all those bills was paid.
