Hey guys and gals!
Listen I know times are bad for alot of us and some of us always need help! HOWEVER Times have been HORRIBLE for The Harvey Family! I Deployed in 2007 With Spc. Bryan Harvey, just shortly after he and his wife had gotten married. Heather, Bryan's wife also had a brother in our Unit (4th BDE 10th MTN). While we were Deployed Heather lost her brother while Bryan and Marcus were at FOB Loyalty Iraq. Bryan got to witness his best friend and his wife's brother be killed due to indirect fire. Bryan escorted Marcus home to her brother. I tell you that back story to bring you up to where the Harvey Family is now! Bryan and Heather's daughter was complaining of some leg pain on November 3rd after doing some trick-or-treating with her brother. After a stop to the hospital to figure out what was going on, and a couple blood tests later Bryan and Heather got to find out that their daughter Anya has a form of leukemia. I posted a link to a site that they are currently trying to raise money to simply survive/pay bills. Please help if you can and please give what you can. This is a family forged out of hardship and has been through enough! If you can and what you can....lets rally and help them out! They are one of our own!!! THANK YOU!!!! For everyone that has helped and continues to help, Bryan has talked to me since last night and thanks us a MILLION. He and Heather are truly touched and amazed in the out pour of help from our veteran community! Let's not stop here though! They're going to continue to need help. They've met their goal but know that the coming months are going to be extremely hard on them as a family financially and spiritually! So come on battle buddies!!!! Let's rally the troops and continue to help!
The little bit of an update I got from talking to Bryan is as follows....
Anya has taken her first chemo treatment. It had gotten her pretty sick as the expected. She is definitely in good spirits though. The girl is a fighter! She is on a long road to recovery and I pray that the good lord raises her up and gets her through this! Please continue to pass this along, help if you can and please keep the family in your prayers!
Your continued support is the most amazing thing that I've ever witnessed in my life! To see a bunch of scoundrels like ourselves come together like this has definitely changed me! I love you all and hope the best for you! Thank you Rally Point family! You are all amazing! ~God Bless~

Hey guys! I'll give you the updates as fast as I get them! Little Anya has walked for the first time since Friday when she was diagnosed!!!! She wanted to walk to the activity room to do some coloring! I just hope you all know just how much of a GREAT impact you have all made on the family! Your outreach and overwhelming support is helping them in more than one way! Anya is a fighter and Bryan and Heather will never quit fighting! I just want ya'll to know how much you are all REALLY appreciated! Thank you all so very very much! I remember now some 29 years ago losing our son David to a premature birth. Barely 16oz, David fought valiantly but lost that fight. I remember sitting in a rocking chair holding him and how Tina looked frightened as if she saw a ghost, even harder times when we saw the baby David for the last time. We gave both kids a strong spiritual name and I know that I miss him and why I cannot take this kind of thing for granted.

As a VIP at East Bay Raceway Park, a Sheriff's Deputy was losing a 9yr old girl to osteosarcoma. I was listening as she told another girl she had picked out her dress for her funeral. I almost cried with anger at the injustice. A year later, tragedy struck again. I remember her brother, 9 himself contracted this insidious and fatal disease. All I remember is saying sorry and hugging that deputy. Sometimes this stuff just doesn't seem fair and is why I was a Support Group Facilitator at the Clyde Perry Institute at the hospital where Anya is at. These situations are beyond politics and the mundane stuff.

It is ours to make the world a better as much as we can.

Team Anya Cale #BeatLeukemia

Anya Took her first walk outside today! Got to meet a support dog, and felt like a normal healthy little girl! She still has bad bone pain and has some pretty aggresive mood swings because of it. The doctors up'd her pain medication in hopes to make her life as enjoyable as it can be. Please ya'll keep passing this along! We are doing it! They still need help, and like SSgt Private RallyPoint Member had said before. $4500 will help tremendously... but its definitely not going to be enough! There are hundreds of thousands of people on Rally Point. If we can get this around on here enough, we can help this little girl and her family out! If each one of us give just a dollar...imagine the help that the family will get?! Please continue to pray for Anya, and please continue to pass this along and help in any way you can! Thank you all so much for the help that we've been able to give and all the support Bryan (Anya's dad) has gotten from his military brothers and sisters!

I'm in, SSG Jeremy Siebenaller. Such a touching story. When I hear of these things, I wonder why. Why do some families (/people) suffer and struggle while others seem to be blessed with good health, all the basic necessities, and then some. And then if you carry that out to the world, look at us here in the USA and people in third-world countries -- and the colossal contrast there.

Aright guys!!! Thank you all again so much for keeping this beautiful little girl and her mommy and daddy in your hearts and thoughts and prayers. Anya has recently gotten to come home and hang out at home while still having to go back to the hospital to get treatment and so forth, she is now allowed to sleep in her bed, at her house, and be surrounded by the love of her family. Anya has been SUCH a little trooper and stayed as strong as possible! You all have come together in ways I didn't know strangers could. I under estimated my military brothers and sisters! I am so grateful to know you all and call you all my friends! Thank you so much for sharing this. Thank you all so much for caring enough to be able to help a family in a time of dire need. And to everyone else that has helped get this thread going...this is the update that Heather and Bryan sent out today. Please if you can share this and please please please help me out. I want to keep this in the open and remind people that just because its a new week.... doesn't mean this we can brush it under the rug. They still need ALOT of help and the donation site i still open. I.m throwing down another donation, I really am trying to encourage everyone to do the same and or share it around Facebook and all the other social media site to get some help. I really appreciate all ya'lls help!

Today's chemo treatment has been quite brutal on Anya's little body. She is having an issue either with the decadron (steroid) that she has been taking twice a day finally catching up with her, or the vincristine really hurting her muscles. What's probably happening is combination of both of those two medicines working together and causing joint pain and atrophy to her leg muscles.
It makes me really sad because when she sits down and then tries to get up she makes this horrible wincing face and makes a quiet grunting noise. She even asked Daddy to carry her up the stairs after dinner because her legs hurt too bad.
We also cut her hair again tonight. It has been falling out in the shower and at night, and we just decided to even it up all over. She looks adorable, of course, but it's just another 'new' thing happening to her and I know that is difficult for her.
Please pray for peace for her and that her pain medicine starts helping take her pain away better. Thanks, all!

A good friend of mine's son had something like this. I can't remember the name but it was in his bones. With many looong trips to the hospital, spinal taps and chemo he is back to wrestling his 2 brothers and playing sports. He has another year of tests and treatments but is doing great. If you go on FB and look for Prayers for Brady that's his site. If the leukemia is the same they may be able to help them out. My prayers to the family.

Hey guys! WE'VE MET OUR GOAL!!!!! Anya's donation request had a goal of $4,500 for 60 days to meet it. Well here we are less than 20 days from when that goal was declared and...we made it!!!! Thank you to all whom made it possible and thank you to all whom prayed and continues to keep the family in your minds! Anya is doing horrible (as expected) however...She is SUCH a fighter. She's doing as good as possible. She's back home. She's eating almost daily. She's still WANTING to go out and play, stay in and color ect. She's a little fighter! Thank you all for your help and please continue to help if you can. $4,500 is just a tear drop in a lake. Bryan and Heather are both going to need all the help and support they can get!
