Fill out a DA Form 368 Conditional Release Request. Send it up your Chain of Command. The time it takes will vary from one Command to another. Once it is submitted, it will be at least 3-6 months before you have the final answer. Bear in mind that each Commander at each level do not have to grant the release. They can say NO. They are not obligated to release you. At the end of the day your NG will base their decision on their investment ($) and personal numbers. I know it sucks but that’s the reality. You will need to sign a DA 4187 (Personnel Action) and two DA 4856s (Counseling Statement) from your career counselor and commander. Make sure to get a hold of a recruiter ASAP so you can get your DD 368 (Conditional Release) signed.
Because you are presumably under 24 months TIS, the conditional release process is a bit different. One of the key factors of this packet is the "employment query", so to speak. Your command may ask you if you've tried the Employment Partnership Program or see if you're eligible for a Military Technician position. If you're denied an active duty release, I'd look into one of these two. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 26 Aug 2019 10:37:45 -0400 2019-08-26T10:37:45-04:00 Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Aug 26 at 2019 1:48 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/conditional-release-from-ng-to-active-financial-hardship?n=4958776&urlhash=4958776

I want to know when you realized that you would have financial challenges? Let me tell you why the Reserve component is better if you are in a financial situation. I am currently deployed as a single soldier and earning Base Pay, BAH, IDP, Hazard Pay, and BAS. If you need money fast, deploy within the NG or if you cannot find a deployment, find a job in the Guard as SAD, ADOS, or AGR (you probably won't be able to get this though). You're part of the CARNG? Here's the link to look for state active duty jobs: https://calguard.ca.gov/cmd-jobs/ . You will get your base pay, BAH, and BAS. You will be making twice as more than if you went Active Duty. Shit, even a civilian job will pay you more than AD. All in all, if you still decide to go AD, talk to an Active Duty recruiter to get the DA Form 368, fill it out, pass it on to your leadership, who will decide if they need you or not (if you're an E4 and below, most likely they can let you go), this may take months, depending on your unit if they decide to expedite the process.

CMD Jobs – Cal Guard

State of California

SPC Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 31 Aug 2019 15:21:57 -0400 2019-08-31T15:21:57-04:00 2019-08-25T18:30:37-04:00
