Normally they set you up in A hotel on base. The first night you may have to pay for one but you will get reimbursed for it.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 17 at 2021 9:04 PM2021-07-17T21:04:09-04:002021-07-17T21:04:09-04:00SGT Christopher Hayden7115457<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you have orders, go to the hotel on post. It can be used on either side of the move but only 10 days total. The hotel must be within 50 miles of bases. Use your gtc, turn reciepts into finance when you inprocess to be reimbursed.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 17 at 2021 9:51 PM2021-07-17T21:51:17-04:002021-07-17T21:51:17-04:00SGT Javier Silva7115753<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Simple answer is yes. You just have to make sure to turn in the receipt of your hotel when you in-process. <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="350153" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/350153-11z-infantry-senior-sergeant-usasma-tradoc">MSG Private RallyPoint Member</a> & <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1064665" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1064665-sgt-christopher-hayden">SGT Christopher Hayden</a> have right idea.Response by SGT Javier Silva made Jul 17 at 2021 11:44 PM2021-07-17T23:44:05-04:002021-07-17T23:44:05-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member7115920<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You normally should be able to use your card up until you start in processing. So if you get in fort hood late at night you use the card to get a hotel. If you also get 10 days to find a house off post you can use the card for the 10 days for a hotel and food.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 18 at 2021 5:18 AM2021-07-18T05:18:14-04:002021-07-18T05:18:14-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member7115927<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You're actually required to use your GTC since it is a PCS expense. It doesn't have to be the on post hotel but DFAS will only refund you the government rate for your hotel. Make sure you ask for the government rate and go stay at a nice Hilton or Marriott. You are entitled to 10 days of TLE to cover your lodging CONUS PCS.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 18 at 2021 5:39 AM2021-07-18T05:39:14-04:002021-07-18T05:39:14-04:00LCDR Keith Trepanier7118267<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm just surprised the out house isn't going to be ready until august 3rd.
