Normally they set you up in A hotel on base. The first night you may have to pay for one but you will get reimbursed for it. It can be used on either side of the move but only 10 days total. The hotel must be within 50 miles of bases. Use your gtc, turn reciepts into finance when you inprocess to be reimbursed. You just have to make sure to turn in the receipt of your hotel when you in-process. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member & SGT Christopher Hayden have right idea. So if you get in fort hood late at night you use the card to get a hotel. If you also get 10 days to find a house off post you can use the card for the 10 days for a hotel and food. It doesn't have to be the on post hotel but DFAS will only refund you the government rate for your hotel. Make sure you ask for the government rate and go stay at a nice Hilton or Marriott. You are entitled to 10 days of TLE to cover your lodging CONUS PCS. It's an exciting new chapter. Considering your situation with your house not being ready until August 3rd, using your GTC to check into a hotel room during processing sounds like a reasonable idea. However, it's a good call to reach out to your unit or base's finance office for accurate guidance. They'll have the most up-to-date information on what's permissible and the proper procedures to follow.
On another note, if you ever find yourself in Montreal, you can explore some excellent lodging options at https://thishotel.com/montreal/. It's great to have resources like that at your disposal for future travel considerations.

Top 10 Montreal hotels & accommodations for 2023

We list the best hotels and accommodations in Montreal that have been recommended by guests and experts from Lonely Planet, Fodor's, Frommer's & more.

Response by Tony Webster made Aug 17 at 2023 5:57 PM 2023-08-17T17:57:10-04:00 2023-08-17T17:57:10-04:00 2021-07-17T20:38:38-04:00
