Yes I do plan on keeping my mos. I've talked to a few Active recruiters they all say I'll have to drop my profile. I really don't want to. I just want to switch when my time is up. If not I'll just get out.

SPC (Join to see) - Hold on there Turbo! SSG (Join to see) is correct. If you voluntarily drop your profile and then go active, and you begin to have issues again, and you will (If you really do need the profile), then your unit will not be real happy with you. That is the least of your worries, you will then have to go back and convince the VA that the injury was a disability, was service connected and that original injury was valid.
The way that will look to the average case evaluator for the VA is that yes, he was injured, but not to the point that it qualifies because he dropped hi P-2 at his own request.
Trust me, that is a party you do not want an invitation to.

SPC (Join to see) - I would honestly evaluate your situation, seek the advice of a podiatry specialist and likely get a second opinion, be honest with both the doctors and your active duty recruiter. Remember when dealing with health issues, err on the side of your health. Also when dealing with enlistment/reenlistment be honest.
If your Guard/Reserve unit is willing to retain you and work with you as you rehab your foot, then that is something. In the end, it is your decision. Hopefully, you have a mentor in your unit, and no offense I am not talking about another E-4 or below with limited knowledge, but a NCO that you can sit down with and be totally honest about your situation and desire to go on active duty

It's a permanent profile, you can't just get rid of it.
Whether or not you keep your current MOS has more to do with whether or not the Army needs your MOS/Skill Level than your profile. As far as your profile goes, you're either medically qualified for your MOS or you're not. If you are not, then you need to be reclassed.

I was told to go see my podiatrist and he could sign something to have them drop the profile. Do I want to? No, but I'm hearing that's the only way I could go active.

Once again, a Homerun from SFC (Join to see). When do you make Command Sergeant Major? Well, that isn't soon enough.
