Cyber is no an official branch of the Army. How do you think it will do?

The Army Cyber Branch is official with an established standup of 1 SEP 14 (signed by SecArmy today). Don't have more info other than that right now (Army is still working a lot of the details).

update: Got a copy of the General Order - GO 2014-63.

Effective 1 September 2014, the United States Army Cyber Branch is established as a basic branch of the Army, pursuant to the authority of Section 3063(a)(13), Title 10, United States Code.

COL Randall C., thank you Sir for the update. I'm a FA53 currently in Phase I and complete the school in May 2015. I downloaded the packet and hope I can apply soon. It's good I'm here at Fort Gordon already.

LTC Cudworth, is it a branch or a career field? Different for officers and NCO's obviously. There is a PAO Branch for enlisted, but for us...it's a career field. You keep your original branch colors so to speak.

This is great news, thank you for the update Sir. I have been following the 25D MOS for a couple years now, having geared my post-secondary schooling towards the possibility of re-classing to 25D or 25B.

Back in 2006 the AF shutdown it's Provisional AF Cyber Command (MAJCOM) and converted it to a Numbered Air Force under Air Force Space Command because of some issues involving flying stuff from one place to another when they weren't suppose to. Now we have Air Force Global Strike Command or Strategic Air Command (SAC) redux.

I love being a Cyber guy, but really wish there were more opportunities for technical growth at the SNCO level.

I definitely need to look into this further. I've been bridging the line between Intel and Signal my whole career, and I'd love to branch out in a way that exploits that exact thing.

So I am reclassing to 25D in August and report to 2ABCT in January, I am looking forward to the experience. Does anyone know what the 25D job will be when assigned to the BCTs?
