Since the beginning, humans has been obsessed with fighting. From the bloody entertainment of the Colosseum to the sacrificial killing grounds of the Aztecs and Mayans. It would be difficult to find a culture, even in the present day, that doesn't in some way express a fascination for warfare. Don’t lie to yourself. If you are reading this...you are a warrior class.

Warriors have influenced nations across time. Bringing a civilization to its knees or even extinction. At different eras, Warriors were born and bred, today it is a voluntary task....one for which you volunteered.

Which nation of Warriors are you most closely related? Have you studied your genetic military history? Care to share what you have learned?

And if you do not know, does it interest you?

If you do not know your genetic lineage, which do you most align yourself with?

I have always felt our greatest military tacticians study history, study and dissect previous decisions on the battlefield. (Probably, our modern day WAR COLLEGE)

Though my surname doesn't show it, I consider my lineage to come from the Vikings. Both my parents are of Norwegian and Swedish heritage.

My Spanish side is with the Basque, My Native American is with Kiowa Apache, most recently 1st Force Recon. I have studied Tai Mantis Kung Fu. I was unable to pull up the Gallegos Coat of Arms. Definitely Warrior Blood Traces through my Veins.

McPherson (Scotland) - The MacPhersons formed part of the great Clan Chattan, and frequently disputed the leadership of this federation with the MacKintosh family. They finally did acknowledge the MacKintosh claim to "Captain of Clan Chattan", but showed them little loyalty in the ensuing years.

Tradition states that Robert the Bruce promised to grant the lands of Badenoch to the chief of the MacPhersons, on condition that he destroy the Bruce's bitter enemies, the Comyns. This murderous deed was carried out by the chief, Ewan Ban MacMhuirich, and his three sons. In recognition of this event, the clan MacPherson is often referred to as "the Clan of the three brothers".

There are many branches of the MacPherson family but the Cluny family emerged as the most important, with Euan MacPherson of Cluny becoming a famous Highland leader in the '45 rebellion. Renowned as one the most spectacular fighters in the Scottish forces, he was forced to live in hiding for nine years, after his property had been burnt to the ground. Despite a reward of £1.00,000 on his head, he was supported by his loyal clansmen, eventually escaping to France in 1755.

Euan's son, Duncan MacPherson of Cluny, fought for the government during the American Wars of Independence, before returning to claim the forfeited MacPherson estates in 1784. The clan seat today is a fine castle at Blairgowrie.

DuBois..and from Louisiana.. traced ancestor back to an officer in Napoleon's army that stayed in Louisiana instead of going back to France... My Family background is about 45% British & Irish, about the same about Nothern European with a smatterning of Eastern and Southern European. On my fathers side I suspect some of my ancestors came to England with the Roman Army and eventually turned to farming. On my mothers side I suspect the same thing happened, except they settled in Germany. All of those ancestors would have suffered through and/or participated in the Viking era... roughly 750 to 1100 AD.

My spouse and daughter were highly amused to learn that I have more Neanderthal in my DNA than they do. Most people are 2.7%, but I'm 2.9%. Not that you can tell...

I have no idea what my actual lineage is. But the warrior class that I feel I most closely align with would be Colonial-American Minutemen. I did not make the military my career (only did 4 years), but I have lots of experience, gear, and I'm ready to go at a minute's notice.

Past research into my past puts us way back to medieval England. Our family backed the wrong person for the throne and were banished to Ireland. From 13 yoa on I wanted to join the Marines which I did and now have 22 years as a deputy sheriff. I consider myself a modern day warrior.

Genetically, my paternal relatives are Cherokee and maternally my relatives are Scots-Irish. I imagine I have some fighters back there somewhere.
Always wanted to think of myself as a warrior poet. More like a shoalin monk. Fight when I must, help when I can. Sometimes that turns out to be both.

I'm Scotch-Irish on my mother's side so I'll take the Gael (appears to have been left off your list) and the Picts (again..didn't see it on your list) along with some Norse blood from their Irish settlements...

Stir that in with English, Welsh, and German on my dad's side and throw in the occasional native american into mix. I'd say there's some warriors in there somewhere. I have a great great great something or other (no really) who was with Gen. Lee at Appomattox, he was a drummer boy. My uncle traced my paternal grandmother's family tree all the way back to medieval Germany...so that's pretty cool.

Just about every culture has their hero warrior class though.

I love the sea... even when it's rough - it's like a real-life roller-coaster ride!!! I'm a Nordic Viking - genetically and psychologically, but have ZERO battle skill!

Although i know that my life is what it is (and I love it) because I joined the canoe club, I will admit that I'm a soldier "wanna-be"... I still carry the (naive) romantic view of "soldiering".

As someone of pure Norwegian descent and an inhabitant of the our own nation's land of ice and snow, I proudly lay claim to my Viking heritage. Fierce combatants, exceptional mariners and navigators, the Vikings were the prototype for the Marine Corps. Columbus discovered America in 1492, huh? Yeah, think again. The Vikings hit the New World in the 10th Century AD, establishing the first colony at Greenland that lasted for 500 years.

I have done a lot of family research and forked over the bucks to do a DNA test. My bloodline shows everything from North Africa (Berbers) to Scandinavia (Vikings) as well as Franks, Celts, Picts, Welsh, Romans, Greeks and Moors. I think they all woud have rather been Fisherman and Farmers but history had other plans.

Actually all soldiers are of Prussian Warrior Decent. Since the founding of all our military training is from Baron von Steuben, a Prussian. We used his "Regulations for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the United States" until 1812.

Ironically enough Baron von Steuben was gay. Not that it matters. Just a tidbit of information.

Me a Nordic Viking, it's my lineage and also I can't help but but stay straight on the warrior path. I live and have always been different than my family and peers growing up. I am at peace when I can defend and protect the human way of life and basic human rights. I can't stray away from it.
