Rod Davis would not discuss anything except to say he had been debriefed and that was it! Dan Soria had been captured on D Day, but I do not recall what unit he was with. But only my upper echelon commanders were WWII vets when I was in Viet Nam. I only went on one combat operation with an actual WWII vet, my B Detachment Commander, but one of my teammates on Detachment A-344 was a Korean War vet. I just don&#39;t remember either of them sporting combat patches. they probably did -- I just can&#39;t recall after all these years. Had a Battalion commander who wore a glider badge. He congratulated me on going to flight school and said that he wished that he was going.
