Dirty... really dirty. If one does not want to be in a position to be considered for QMP or QSP....Then one needs to do what it takes to continue to move up and forward in their MOS. Honestly I have no sympathy for an individual that does not make the cut. That makes more room for the many soldiers that are hard charging to move up and forward. #CANT MAKE THE CUT...MOVE ASIDE PLEASE. Was a 4/4 values. My 6 NCOER since we're either 2/2 or 1/1. With a 3/3 3 MONTH COR from when I was an instructor, with most of that either a cycle break or leave. They will take anybody when the meat grinder of war needs fresh bodies. But after it's over lets find any blemish to thin the ranks. I can see the reason for this if you currently are fat, breaking the law, not wanting to progress. But to target someone for a failure 10 years ago who has great service afterwards, aaaaaaahhhhhh give me a break! This was from 2012. The BDE even had the highest attrition rate of CPT's from the RIF board in 2014.

I was in the unit from 2010 to 2015 (1st Air Cavalry Brigade -1ACB). The Air Cav BDE had many depressed Soldiers who were suicidal during that time period due to the toxic leadership from the brigade command team.

We had just returned back to Fort Hood (June 2012) and finished a year long deployment from Afghanistan and the BDE command team led by COL John Novalis changed over. COL Cory Mindenhall and CSM Chris Amagliani took over and morale in the BDE plummeted! Mindenhall and Amagliani were directed by FORSCOM to get rid of Soldiers for minor offenses such as missing a medical appointment. The Army was downsizing and commanders and CSM's were told to chapter people out for the smallest of reasons. The BDE command team gave no leniency: You missed several formations - gone! You failed one PT test - Gone! Several speeding tickets on post - Gone! An Officer misses two meetings - Letter of reprimand (career killer) - Gone!

Our BDE Chaplain, MAJ Shabazz, had MANY late nights with depressed Soldiers, NCO's, and Officers due to the horrible command team influence of COL Mindenhall and CSM Amagliani.
