Oh Yeah, Of Course. People don't like when you challenge the Party Line in this case "Nation of Islam" I understand he was starting to adopt a more Tolerant Line also he was a Threat to the Upper Echelon of the Nation of Islam.

Malcolm didn't split from the Nation of Islam, they suspended him because of negative comments he made regarding the assassination of President Kennedy (remember the nation was mourning) He called it ""a case of chickens coming home to roost" and an outgrowth of violence whites used against Negros"

I was a young kid when all this stuff happened. I remember a lot of my adult neighbors (white, Italian, German, etc.) reaction was "good, let them kill each other". I think at the time, most people didn't understand the dynamic nor cared to. One thing for sure, it wasn't an amicable divorce. I'm sure we look at things through a different lens now.
