Did SMA Dailey's pink and greens get officially adopted?

Finding contradictory claims about the pink and greens and all my buddies are long since ETS'd since the days of the Vietnam-era green Class A's and the blues we switched to.

Also, I recognize that ACUs have to continually change pattern to offer to most optimized tactical advantage according to the environment that the Army is currently in or preparing for. But does anyone else get sick of how often the dress uniforms change? I get the WW2 heritage thing, and on some level, I love it, even if I'm a little salty over it. But I know we're constantly mocked by other branches for the endlessly changing uniforms. Wish we could find something and stick with it, lol...

Yes, the newer AGSU has a mandatory wear date of 1 October 2027

PFC Phillip Jones I do hope someone would describe how an WW II officers uniform converts to an enlisted Soldiers uniform. The WW II Army enlisted uniform was Olive Drab and made of wool that was scratchy!

MSG Private RallyPoint Member is correct, they were adopted. A lot of Senior Leaders are already wearing them.

The ASUs are not replaced. They will remain the "dress uniform". The AGSU will take the place of normal duty uniform wear in garrison. I have already worn mine on several occasions for unit visits, even in the field they are very durable and comfortable.

Yes - the AGSU will become the service uniform as mentioned below. They started to issue them out in basic last year I believe. Prior to 2027, I do believe there's also a caveat of "commander's discretion" on people wearing them.

From what I heard, prior to 9/11 people who worked in the office basically wore Class B's. The utility uniform (BDU now ACU) was worn at the motor pool or the field. After 9/11 the COS at the time or someone decided we should wear BDU/ACU all the time since we were a "nation at war."

I can retire in 3 years. If I can avoid buying one more uniform - I will.

All this uniform change idiocy, I think, began when a General's wife designed the ball cap for wear with fatigues. Since then, it seems every new top leader thinks it's their job to re-design the dress uniform! The Marines do it best ... they're dress greens, and blues haven't changed much other than what material is used. I recently donated my Marine Greens to a local Marine Corps League - they wanted one with the Corpsman's subdued patch with the chevron/cadeuces.

I wish that they would bring back the Khakis. Khakis were an awesome everyday uniform and they should be brought back. It was comfortable, smart and it was easy to maintain.

Yes, the Army Green Service Uniform (based on the old WW2 "Pink & Greens" uniform design of WW2 - was the nickname of the WW2 era uniform that reportedly turned the tan uniform shirt and trousers a pinkish hue, when laundered) was formally named the new Army Service uniform by SMA Dailey and approved in June 2020. https://www.marlowwhite.com/pinks-and-greens-information/

We haven't gotten rid of the ASU blues, they're just being treated as the dress uniforms they were originally intended for.

The Pink & Greens have been adopted as well though - walk into any clothing & sales and you'll see a quarter of the store devoted to them now. Think of the blues as your tuxedo, and your pink & greens as your business suit.

Other branches, especially the Navy, have dozens of different uniforms. For awhile the Army only had 3 - ACUs, ASUs, and PTs (flight suits and crew uniforms also, but only for pilots and crewmen). you might want to remind your buddies from other branches of this when they try and mock you for it. Thank god Summer uniforms have been brought in though. Love them.
