Depending on the terrain it won't work. Not being negative by any means, but that was an extreme past time of mine is messing around off road. Now with that said, anytime I was stuck, any possibility is worth a shot!

Deep Texas gumbo mud of soft beach sand.. The only time it didn't work was on a narrow trail and the trees around us kept breaking the tree limb off.

My grandfather taught us this when I was just a kid,, we used it to get tractors unstuck.. I used this on a Hummer in Germany to self recover.. Hotel 8 recovery guys put it in there "how too" book... they also make a device that slips over the lugs and has a half moon shape that basically does the same thing..

No Sir, I have not tried this. Looking at the picture and video, it does look like it would be a good way to get unstuck.
