No I grew up in Jamaica Plain MA & joined a gang Called the "JP Pals" when I was 14. We were really a bunch of Irish thugs and most of this gang was arrested so many times their Probation Officers had them all join the Army just as the Korean War Started.. We had fights almost every weekend with other gangs. Or we would have the toughest guy in each of our gangs meet a the local ball park and go one on one in a fist fight. So as soon as I turned 18 I enlisted in the Marines to get away from this gang. And my family moved from Jamaica Plain to West Roxbury MA which was a blessing.. About the only thing I got from being in a gang was that I became a good street fighter which is nothing to be proud of but came in handy in the Marines... I even answered the challenge from my DI & thought I would be able to kick his butt. Unfortunately that didn't happen.

It was interesting that's for sure! Never a dull moment and I got many ass kickings from my dad, who was also a Marine SSgt of WWII. Man, he didn't have a sense of humor at all!

Of course. There are a few of us that only see each other once or twice a year but we pick right up like it was yesterday. I think only true friends can do that.
