Mars appears to have flowing rivulets of salty water, at least in the summer, scientists reported Monday in a finding that could have major implications for the possibility of life on the red planet.

Makes you wonder what's out there, the atmosphere is right, there's water...definitely the potential of sustaining some type of simple cellular life form.

Very cool! Liquid water (even if only seasonal) is a big step toward the conditions needed to sustain life (even microbial). The possibility that the water continues to be liquid beneath an ice cover is also very realistic.

On Earth, where this is water there is life. The same might be so on Mars. The question is: how do we find it without introducing Earth life forms that hitched a ride on Curiosity and other rovers? I don't know the answer to that but sure hope someone figures it out. Even microbial life elsewhere would be amazing.
