Liquid water (even if only seasonal) is a big step toward the conditions needed to sustain life (even microbial). The possibility that the water continues to be liquid beneath an ice cover is also very realistic. First water, then we've got Tripods walking down Pennsylvania avenue heat-raying everyone. When we're slaving in the water mines for our new martian overlords, don't say we weren't warned. :) Response by PO1 Cameron Rhyne made Sep 29 at 2015 1:26 AM 2015-09-29T01:26:57-04:00 2015-09-29T01:26:57-04:00 Sgt Private RallyPoint Member 1001404 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A manned mission to Mars is in our future. The same might be so on Mars. The question is: how do we find it without introducing Earth life forms that hitched a ride on Curiosity and other rovers? I don't know the answer to that but sure hope someone figures it out. Even microbial life elsewhere would be amazing.
