Cool! Does than mean any one of the following "five" uniformed services of the United States:
1. United States Army
2. United States Marine Corps
3. United States Navy
4. United States Air Force
5. United States Coast Guard
6. United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps
7. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps
8. United States Space Force

I use Navy Federal and have NO problems. One day they noticed a large purchase and called me-I told them that it was me and glad you cared enough to call me to check. Rather use NFCU than anyone else.

Which “5th” Branch are you referring to?
Would it be the Coast Guard or the Space Force?

How ‘bout a 6th Branch...the long awaited
Merchant Marines? Just my opinion, but I think they should be recognized as a military Branch, more so than the Space Force.

The Merchant Marines, though Civilians, were the suppliers of Food & Medical supplies to U.S. Navy Ships and other Branches of the military, since WW II.

As the cliche’ goes, “Troops move on their stomachs! And they need to be fed!”

Technically, the U.S. Marine Corps falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Navy.
(Marines are the Navy’s “Infantry”.)

The U.S. Coast Guard, at one time, had fallen under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Navy, only during Wartime. And during
Peacetime, under the Department of Commerce. But in recent years, the Coast Guard comes under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security.

Also, as much as President Trump has recently designated a new Branch of the Military, known as the Space Force. Ultimately, it would come under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Air Force.

BTW: The U.S. Air Force was established in 1946; shortly after the end of WW II.

Those who had served in the “Air Force” during the War, had actually served with the Army Air Corps; a Division of the U.S. Army.

Back when I was a teenager, my next door neighbor had served with the Army Air Corps, during WW II. And he was very proud of his service.

I also had two uncles who had served in the Army and my father and his brother both had served in the Navy. All four had served overseas, during WW II. My brother & I are ‘nam Vets.

I’m a Genealogy buff and do a lot of family heritage research. I can trace all the way back to being related to Richard Warren. He was one of the original singers of the Comstock Act!

My 7th generation grandfather, Noah Grant, had fought at Bunker Hill, during the
Revolutionary War.

He was the father of two sons, Peter & Jessie.

One of Peter’s Off-Springs was my Great, Great Grandmother, Clara. One of her daughters, Frances, was my Great Grandmother, of whom I knew. Her daughter, Mary Margaret, was my Paternal Grwndmother.

The other son of Noah Grant was Jessie, as I had mentioned above. Jessie had several children.

One of his sons was, Ulysses S. Grant.
Grant attended and graduated from West Point. He fought in the Mexican-American War; and eventually worked his way up to the Rank of a Lieutenant General. He was appointed as the Supreme Commander if the Army, during the Civil War.

After Andrew Jackson had served One Term in the Office of the President (and was subject to a pending Impeachment, he did not run for re-election. U.S. Grant had been encouraged, nominated and won the election to become the 18th President of the United States. He and my Great, Great Grandmother were 1st Cousins.

Being blood related, U.S. Grant is considered to be my 5th generation Cousin.

Both my Great Grandmother’s 1st late husband and her 2nd husband (of whom I known) had served together in the Spanish-American War.

My Paternal Grandfather, though a Canadian citizen at the time, had served in the U.S. Army during WW I. And returning home after being severely wounded with Muster Gas Poisoning and losing the lower portion of his right leg!

In addition, I have the son of a 1st Cousin on my mother’s side of the family, who had served in combat in the Iraqi War.

So as one can see, my family history goes all the way back to the 1620s, in North America.

I was able to further trace my Paternal heritage going back to the Norsemen.
So, I guess, I can say that I have Viking blood within me!

I have been so impressed with NFCU as opposed to many of the banks I have dealt with. I am not easy to impress but their customer service is some of the very best I have dealt with in any vertical market. I have been pre-approved to get my ranch here in Texas . It is just a question of picking the property and for conditions to be safe to move my ward ( my niece was born with Cerebral Palsy and was a preemie (underdeveloped lungs +weak immune system) So you can imagine how very happy I will be to safely get her into the country. Thanks Navy Federal :) from one very happy uncle/guardian
