RP Members what are your thoughts on this (2nd and 3rd Order Effects)?

What else with this historical deal reveal over the next several months?

I think this quote from the article speaks to the extreme potential for profits, especially for Boeing and Airbus - "Iran needs about 400 passenger planes to renovate its fleets, which would cost $20 billion"

If aviation is this outdated I can only imagine the thousands of other areas that will need improvements as well.

Yes, with the relief of $150 billion in sanctions lifted they can do more than that. IRAN is going to be in our headlines big time very soon. Obama has sanctioned WHATEVER they want to do. How long before Russia gives them nuclear material? They have the missile technology to explode a nuclear tipped missile 50 miles above Mid-America and take down our power grid for at least 5 years. The result from that? 20 years of Depression in the U.S. The rest of your and my lives....

I read through it the other night. I am beginning to think there were other implications in this. We know ISIS isn't going anywhere anytime soon. But we just enable Iran to update their military. But it is going to take years for it to do that and some of the restrictions don't go away for years to come. But If they had a better military maybe they would bring the fight to ISIS. I think there were spoken to Iran than just a nuclear deal. They are an growing power. Like the new versions of Saddam's Iraq. Would they really attack Israel. I doubt it. But they will force all of the other countries in check and prevent them from making a unified Sunni Front. If Iran was stronger they might intervene in other countries and disrupt their government just like they did in Iraq. But if they are doing it to other nations in the region then it prevents anyone from unifying all of them against Israel or the west.

CPT (Join to see) You bring up some interesting discussion points. Let's hope that your theory is correct for the most part. Haven't we helped other countries with Nation Building like this in the past and then we eventually go to war with them?

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Yeah but if saddam was in power we wouldn't have ISIS. You can't hurt ISIS with trade restrictions like you can Iran.
