Did you know the chances of an earthquake hitting the LA area is for sure?

This is just great. My corporate offices are in the LA area and I'll be there in December for the annual Christmas party. I sure hope there are no earthquakes when I'm there.

well ... it is like ... I am pretty sure there will be a wild fire in CA ... just don't know when and how bad it will get....
I don't mean to "devalue" their assessment ... but it is just a game of publicity that more people pay attention, more life maybe save when it actually happen.

I was in Newport Beach during the Northridge earthquake and in Temecula during the SoCal desert quake below. From where I was during the Northridge, the motion was rolling. The 1999 quake was a violent jolt followed by rolling since the quake echoed off the eastern Sierra Nevada range.
I prefer unpredictable TX weather to SoCal quakes. At least I get a short warning before the weather gets bad. Although, the small quakes we get in Irving are unnerving when on the 6th floor, even if they are small.
Godspeed to those in SoCal when another big one hits.
