SCPO Private RallyPoint Member 319413

So, I took a "hiatus" from rally point and returned to see some of the most nonsensical questions. Some of these questions more of a ploy to get likes(points) even more than some of the Facebook pages. I understand society and the need for like-uniformed folks to "fit in" with the in crowd, whatever that is. However, many of the questions I have seen have been irrational nonsense that is obviously just keyboard fodder utilized to create an environment of Zombieism. Maybe I'm synical, maybe im negative, but I know that I joined the military because of the history, tradition, heritage and obligation, not to bitch about the uniform I am honored to wear or if senior enlisted have "too much say so". I represent my Sailors creed and my Corpsman oath, everything else is secondary and silent. I have read some great posts on rally point, but the majority of it just seems like a pool of negativity drawing my fellow service mates in, deterring them from the mission and most of all, fizzling the morale to next to nothing and turning my beloved DoD to a civilian nightmare. Seriously, pull your cammies up high, dig your fighting hole, and relish in the fact that maybe, just maybe, you will be looked upon from Valhalla by your forefathers in arms as an honorable extension of their core values. serve your country, not yourself. #dropsthemicslapssomebodyonthewayout.

Tango!
Doc Did you really think the question that you put on RallyPoint was relevant? 2014-11-09T22:09:53-05:00 SCPO Private RallyPoint Member 319413

So, I took a "hiatus" from rally point and returned to see some of the most nonsensical questions. Is that what this is? Or are you really concerned about the quality of the discussions on RallyPoint?

For posts that I find negative, stupid or meant only to incite argument and elicit negative comments (in my opinion), I just ignore them and move along. That approach works for me, and my morale is good to go. The difference of a leader and a supervisor. It is the difference between influence and coercion. A leader sets the bar and has the God given ability to rally their followers based on character. A leader can execute the commanders intent, and influence their followers to follow suite with pride. A leader is the direct descendent of the Basilone's an Dan Daly's, selflessly sacrificing for the idea of a free country. A leader will be followed because they know no different, their virtue attracts all with a full heart and loaded weapon. A supervisor must use coercion and the threat of punishment to fulfill the mission. A supervisor must remind others of their superior rank to gain obedience and while both effective, a leader will create a legacy for themselves and a greater legacy for those who come after them. a supervisor gains nothing but a thank you letter rubber stamped by the president. I emplore the youth of our service, strive to be leaders, realize the honor of carrying the letter U.S. Next to your service on your chest. Sharpen your 8 points boys and girls, because when judgement day comes, be judged my your merit, by your honor and by your heart. Not by the ink of your pen or the guile of a toothy smile. Be the leaders of freedom, be the leaders of virtue, and never, NEVER be influenced by a supervisor. Live for the free, fight for the free, die for the free, but never compromise your inheritance. Your inheritance, of Valor.

Tango!
Doc Response by SCPO Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 10 at 2014 12:28 AM 2014-11-10T00:28:09-05:00 2014-11-10T00:28:09-05:00 MCPO Private RallyPoint Member 3765087

Chief, don’t go to the MCPO group page. It’s one "relieved for cause" after another. Hey, there’s one congratulations to the new Navy MCPO selection but the rest of the discussions are depressing. I just ignored and moved on as CW5 recommends. If I had received this kind of ridiculousness through official networks, I’d be leading the charge to cease and desist. However, at least in my book, RP is nothing more than entertainment no different than any other unofficial social media site.
