Yes. Actually, while the program existed I had the privilege to serve as the Lead Ambassador for Florida and as a member of the Freedom Team Salute National Advisory Committee.

The program was, as often happens, discontinued after a chance of Army Chief of Staff.

I got one. It says that my name was submitted by the American Legion. There is no date on it but Casey was Chief of Staff at the time. (Actually I got two of them).

I was an Ambassador For the program. I received one from the American Legion and joined. Gave out over 1,000 . Had Children from local school send Christmas Cards to Men and women serving over seas. It was a great program. I am Honored to have been a part of it.

Never heard of it until just now, SPC Margaret Higgins, so obviously, I never received one. SFC Michael Hasbun seems to think the program started in 2005, and by then I was already assigned to the Retired Reserve.
