My CO was Capt McCarthy who commanded a rifle platoon at the Chosin, & some of the Company Staff NCOs & NCOs were at the Chosin. Many of these guys were also being treated at the nearby Chelsea Navy Hospital for wounds they suffered in Korea. We had a small bar on the base that was open to all ranks & occasionally someone would be asked "How was the Chosin" and they would stare off into space and say "Tough" or "Never been so cold in my life".... But now after 65 years since the Chosin I think it is indeed a "Forgotten War: but I will never forget those I knew who were there..
