A CSM tapped me on my shoulder and gave me the guidance I was missing on Recruiter duty. Needless to say, I served another 4 years, 7 months after getting medically retired with full benefits. I thank that CSM everyday for caring enough to tell me straight, "You are not ready to retire!" I read between the lines. Once you are disabled, you become labeled by leadership and forced to medically retire.
