I would head to that source and have it transferred. In my opinion, any kind of derogatory actions in a Soldiers file, especially NCOER or OMPF would hinder their ability to attain a higher rank. Right now, with all the downsizing that the military is going through, it is just one more strike against them; even if it was a long time ago. Hope it works out. <br> Response by SSG Jason Neumann made Dec 16 at 2013 1:10 PM 2013-12-16T13:10:57-05:00 2013-12-16T13:10:57-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 21852 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>^ I also had a TRADOC CSM tell me you can totally get it removed from your OMPF...I would have to find out how myself. I say, just leave it. Especially if it is something menial.  Depending on the severity of the A15 it shouldn't matter to the board that it exists.  9/10 as an E5 it is understanding that Soldiers - especially young NCOs will go through some growing pains. In closing, no. Just leave it, it shouldn't effect their look for 7. Great post and thanks for sharing. </p><p><br></p> Response by SFC Randy Purham made Dec 16 at 2013 2:19 PM 2013-12-16T14:19:37-05:00 2013-12-16T14:19:37-05:00 CPT Aaron Kletzing 21885 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SSG Burns, I don't know the answer personally, which should not shock you since I was a pre-command CPT when I got separated. ;-) <div><br></div><div>Anyway, thank you to all the high speed NCOs for their responses here.  I would also bring MSG(P) Matt Quick into this discussion -- he has an excellent track record for giving advice to others here on RallyPoint.  Thanks again, everyone -- you are what makes this RallyPoint network so powerful!</div><div><br></div><div>If there is a consensus answer to this thread, please make sure it is highlighted as the correct answer so that others can easily track it down.  Thanks!</div> Response by CPT Aaron Kletzing made Dec 16 at 2013 3:58 PM 2013-12-16T15:58:38-05:00 2013-12-16T15:58:38-05:00 SGM Matthew Quick 21954 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've talked to a trusted senior SGM &amp; personal mentor that sat on numerous centralized selection boards and I was told that the 'Restricted File' is not available to board members...yet.<br><br>The Army MAY open this file to board members beginning with the upcoming SFC selection board.<br><br>Advice:  Yes, try to get the old information moved to the 'Restricted File', just in case the Army does not open this file to board members.<br><br><a href="http://arba.army.pentagon.mil/Unfavorable.cfm">http://arba.army.pentagon.mil/Unfavorable.cfm</a><br> Response by SGM Matthew Quick made Dec 16 at 2013 7:02 PM 2013-12-16T19:02:39-05:00 2013-12-16T19:02:39-05:00 CSM Mike Maynard 22275 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Agree with most here,<div><br></div><div>Have her request to get it moved to her restricted file.</div><div><br></div><div>Currently, boards can only access "in-grade" misconduct in the restricted file.</div> Response by CSM Mike Maynard made Dec 17 at 2013 8:28 AM 2013-12-17T08:28:12-05:00 2013-12-17T08:28:12-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 98757 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Remember that the Army is downsizing and I would have to make a professional guess stating that our restricted file will be available for all to see for selection boards. I believe people can rehabilitate especially if the incident happened when they were privates. The Army wants to present a professional image and the guidelines are getting thinner and thinner. Doing the right thing at all times no matter what is the trend. Some of the ways they are using to downsize the force my not be popular but it sure is catching those individuals who always got over.<br> Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 10 at 2014 9:12 PM 2014-04-10T21:12:14-04:00 2014-04-10T21:12:14-04:00 SSG Robert Burns 98843 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Update everyone.  She made the list, sequence number in the 30's.
